Christopher Cockerell, born today in 1910, needed his Gemini optimism whilst he was designing his invention; the hovercraft. Cockerell began work on his idea in 1953, having to sell personal possession to finance his research, which paid off when on 25th July 1959, his prototype "SRN1" made a successful crossing between Dover and Calais. Another inventor born today in 1744 was Patrick Ferguson. Ferguson was a Scottish officer in the British army and the designer of the Ferguson rifle.  

Geminis make good entertainers and enjoy being in the limelight, therefore do well within the entertainment industry. Gemini's born today with these careers include American actress Angelina Jolie, a dynamic Gemini character if ever there was one.  Jolie has been famous for her passionate affairs with acors Billy Bob Thornton and Brad Pitt.  While she has hit the headlines for some dark behavior, such a wearing a vial of her husband's blood in a pendant, she has also displayed a warm and affectionate side.   Typical Gemini!
