Greediest Woman in the WorldLove shoes?  You're not alone, and one of the world's most notorious shoe collectors was born today.Cancers born today share their birthday with Imelda Marcos, the widow of the former dictator of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos. Born in 1929, Marcos is known around the world for her shoe collection. Sadly, she did not have the usual Cancer characteristic of sensitivity or loyalty to people who trusted her, as she went on multi-million dollar shopping trips to New York and Rome while thousands of her subjects in the Philippines lived in poverty. Newsweek recently called her one of the "Greediest People of All Time", which she had the nerve to agree to.   A determined Cancer born today in 1862, is William Henry Bragg.  This English physicist and chemist worked alongside his son, William Lawrence Bragg to win the Noble Prize in Physics in 1915, for their studies on X-rays. Their ground breaking work "X-rays and Crystal Structure" reached five editions in ten years, as scientists were keen to learn as much as possible about the relatively new technology.Another Nobel Prize winner, born today in 1946, was Richard Axel. Axel is an American neuro-scientist who won the prize in Physiology or Medicine in 2004 for his joint work on the olfactory system.
