Possibly the most famous ringmaster of all time, P.T Barnum, was born today in 1810. The showman and entertainer founded the P.T. Barnum Grand Traveling Museum, Menageris, Caravan and Hippodrome at the age of 61.
Myles Horton was also born today. Horton was born in a poor white area of Tennessee but like many Cancers he had strong social views and was determined to apply these beliefs in any way that he could. He was the co-founder of Highland Folk School which played a big part in the Civil Rights Movement. Martin Luther King Jr. was among those who Horton taught.
