Mr. TMr. TEnglish poet Alexander Pope, born today in 1688, displayed his creative Taurean personality in his work, and is regarded as one of the greatest poets of the eighteenth century.

Other creative Taureans born today include musician Leo Sayer, Rapper The Notorious B.I.G, and American actor Laurence Tureaud, better known to most as Mr T.
"I pity the fool who doesn't remember my birthday!"  (Sorry!  Couldn't resist.)

Elizabeth Fry, born today in 1780, was an English prison and social reformer, and a prime example of what Taureans can achieve with their natural determination, focus and commitment to a plan. Fry was the driving force behind new legislation to make the treatment of prisoners in England more humane. She also established a "nightly shelter" for the homeless in London after seeing a young child living on the streets in winter. In Brighton she also started a visiting society, where volunteers visited the poor at home, to provide them with help and comfort. This society was later set up in other towns across Britain.

Happy Birthday CherHappy Birthday CherIf you are celebrating your birthday today, you share the day with the winner of the first Nobel Peace Prize, Frédéric Passy. Born today in 1822, Passy was the joint winner with Henry Dunant in 1901, for his writing and speeches advocating peace.

Taureans are known for their determination, and this determination won John Cruickshank, born today in 1920, the Victoria Cross during World War II.  Cruickshank is a real testament to Taurean tenacity: despite having twelve wounds from flak shells, two of which were serious wounds to his lungs, the Flying Officer continued to release his depth charge onto a German U-boat, sinking it in July 1944.

Taureans have their own special brand of practical creativity, which they get their ruling planet, Venus; The Creator.

Pete TownshendPete TownshendTaureans are known for their reliability, and admirably always do their best regardless of what they are doing.  This is a personality trait which Joe Gilmore, born today in 1922, certainly had in his career.  Although you might not know his name,  he was known by most of the celebrities of his day, as he was the longest serving Head Barman at The Savoy Hotel's American Bar.  During his time there he has served both royalty and celebrities including Sir Winston Churchill, ErnestHemingway, Noel Coward and Frank Sinatra.

I bring up Joe as a celebrity birthday worth mentioning, because it is important to remember that in life, just as in the movie world, there are no small parts.  As a Taurus, it is important to feel valid in whatever career you pursue, and you must enjoy your work as you are likely to be very devoted to it.

Chow Yun FatChow Yun FatTaureans born today share their birthday with a rather unlucky Russian Tsar, Nicholas II, the last Tsar of Russia who abdicated after the Revolution of 1917 and was killed along with his family by the Bolsheviks on the night of 17 July 1918.   Perhaps it was highTaurean focus that led him to strive for power for Russia at any cost, earning him the reputation 'Bloody Nicholas.'

Once Taureans have a goal in sight they rarely let up, and this was certainly true for the Tennis star Fred Perry, born today in 1909.  He was a three time Wimbledon Champion, and was the World No 1 for five years, four of which were consecutive. He was also the last Englishman to win all of the Wimbledon, US Open, French Open and Australian Open Men's Singles titles.

Happy Birthday George Lucas!Happy Birthday George Lucas!Taureans receive their creative personality trait from their ruling planet, Venus: The Creator. Other creative Taurean's also born today are Australian actress Cate Blanchett (from Lord of the Rings) and English actor Tim Roth (remember The Rocky Horror Picture Show?)

Another creative but also determined Taurean born today is film producer, director and screen writer, George Lucas, who is best known for his sci-fi franchise, Star Wars.  In order to try and get the first film made, he waived his directors fee, instead negotiating to own the licensing rights, which the film company thought would be worthless.  This turned out to be one of many shrewd business moves, and the rights   have earned him hundreds of millions of dollars to date. He also worked with his college friend, Steven Spielberg on the Indiana Jones films along with many other epic movies.
