It certainly feels like the world is in total chaos these days, with the world economy thrown off-kilter, the energy crisis being faced here at home, and wars and conflict breaking out all over, can all this be put in an astrological perspective?  There are many opinions about what brought on all this calamity and how we can solve it, I’ve scoured the web looking for some perspective and mostly hope.  We, the common people, those of us at the bottom have been left hanging after a bailout plan that doesn’t seem to be working and a government that refuses to address the real issues we have to wonder what the hell is going on?  There’s a lot of speculation about whether this marks the begining of the 2012 era when the whole world will experience a shift in consciousness.

Here are some interesting articles to look at with different takes on our current events.  In this article from grandtrines.com the author states “this might be one really scary Halloween.”

Another article I found quite interesting is in astrologyexplored.com, the article is titled The Astrology of Money: What Planets Our Economic Woes, worth checking out for a brief look at the correlation of the country’s birthday and it’s influence on today’s economy.

Balance! Balance! Balance!  That’s the key word for you Libra.  The next couple of months are going to be a bit chaotic as pressure mounts for you to complete those projects you started earlier this summer.  It’s time to put the finishing touches on that renovation or home-based business and prepare to release your baby into the universe.  With Mercury in retrograde starting the 15th of September all the way throught the 24th of October, you are going to have to make some tough choices about which direction you want those projects to go.  We know how much you hate pressure and you want things to be just perfect, but now is not the time to freak out about it.  If you have to make your people work harder, use those diplomatic skills of yours because tensions are running deep this time of the year.  You don’t want to push your allies away.  Make sure you take some time for deep breathing exercises or meditation because you’ll be needing it.

I can’t say that I agree with Sarah Palin’s politics, or that I even like her, but for some reason I can’t stop reading about her. She is a fascinating character in a sea of male politician look-a-likes, especially being a Republican. So I became curious about her astrological make-up and when her stats became public I went on-line and dug out her chart.

Sarah Palin was born in Sandpoint, Idaho on February 11, 1964, at 4:40pm. This makes Palin an Aquarius sun sign, with Leo rising and moon in Aquarius, as well. Actually, Aquarius appears many times in her chart, in Mercury, Mars and Saturn. This woman is a force to be reckoned with.

For starters, having her sun sign in Aquarius makes her a born doer. She is ambitious, energetic, extroverted, assertive, with a strong ego. These qualities are heightened by the influence of Aquarius present in her moon, as well. Palin is group oriented, prefers to lead rather than follow, and does not want to be confined to domesticity.

Jupiter in Aries gives this woman the drive and focus necessary for being a leader, but having Aries in Venus makes her seem a bit brusque. Palin is not easily shaken by external factors thanks to the coolness bestowed by Aquarius in Mercury.

Having Mars and Saturn in Aquarius makes Sarah a reformist, but she needs to learn to be open-minded since her conservative views leave little room for compassion and flexibility.

And I think what makes Sarah Palin the celebrity that she has become is having Leo as her rising sign. Leo’s influence is what gives her popularity. Leos are naturally fascinating individuals who always steal the spotlight from those around her. It’s this influence that allows her to make connections with the public, otherwise Aquarius’ influence would dominate her personality and make her cool and distant.

Sarah Palin has the astrological make-up of a natural born leader, but a person is more than their chart. She has immersed herself in a conservative environment dominated by male power and given her chart she is apt to absorb those qualities.

There’s nothing wrong with that, I do think it’s curious that she embodies all the things that conservative men have criticized in professional women: independence, ambition, masculinity. She needs to analyze what the intentions of those around her are when she was nominated as running mate, and not let it get to her head.

Astrologers are finding more links between the influence of the planets and the stars on people’s personal lives.

Can astrology predict if and when a person will become ill? Check out this article about medical professionals at a university in India who have conducted a five year study about the correlation of a person’s astral chart and the manifestation of diseases. According to the article, about 75 per cent of the cases studied were accurately predicted using astrology.

And if you’re wondering why you can’t seem to move up in your career while others seem to do so effortlessly, it cold have something to do with your birth sign and and birth order. Check out this story about a survey conducted by Careerbuilder in which participant’s sign and birth order were able to determine a person’s ideal career choice and predict how much money they get to take home.

As a Sagittarius, middle-child I seem to fit the profile, somewhat. I was once interested in a career in nursing, as middle children are likely to be, but it turns out I can’t tolerate the sight of blood. And being a Sagittarius I’ve always been drawn to writing and current events. But does any of this have anything to do with astrology?

I think that people will always be drawn to astrology because it offers a glimpse of people’s inner workings that keeps us connected to something outside of ourselves. I think it’s also fun stuff that sheds light on this thing we call life. Astrology can’t tell you how to live your life or what decisions to make when it comes to careers, but you might be surprised how some things just fit. For whatever reason. I say keep up the studies and the surveys.

Can astrology predict the outcome of this year’s presidential elections? Can looking at the candidates charts give us any insight into what kind of president each would make? Will the position of the planets have any influence over who is elected? These are questions that astrologers are pondering and consulting the stars about. Here are two interesting perspectives on the candidates Obama and McCain.

Should astrology be given any attention when it comes to politics? Does it matter to anyone if McCain is a Virgo and Obama is Leo? Will this influence anyone’s vote?

There will be a new moon in Virgo on August 30th, and now is the time to start creating your new future. I was meditating about what this all means to us, and in doing so I pulled out my old reliable Crowley tarot deck. I shuffled and focused, and pulled the Knight of Wands, it all seemed to make sense.

The new moon in Virgo inspires us to reach deep within ourselves, and find inside the truth about who we are and what our personal legend is. This is the time to plant the seeds of who we are to become tomorrow, this is the time to let yourself dream big, allow yourself the freedom to explore those unfulfilled crevices in your souls and believe that with the fiery bravura of the Knight of Wands, you can charge forward and succeed.

Here is a site that gives a more in depth understanding of the moon’s influences in our daily lives.

After a crazy week of eclipse it feels like things are starting to calm down in the old universe right? Well, this morning I felt the sucker stick it to me again! For the second week in a row the free weekly rag in my city has failed to deliver to my neighborhood and I am left having to look up my favorite horoscope online. This is the best horoscope I’ve found out there, I have been reading Free Will Astrology since I was in the tenth grade— well over fifteen years ago. It’s insightful and inspiring as any good horoscope ought to be. I can’t live without it.

I don’t know about anyone else, but so far the last few days have been jarring. Come to think of it, the last few weeks have been weird, as if something were brewing in the universe, and suddenly this past weekend -BOOM!- everything blew up!! I started to wonder if all this negativity had a correlation with the stars or was it just my bad luck?

As it turns out while doing some investigating, I found that we are four days from experiencing a total solar eclipse in Leo. You can read more about what this means in this cool blog I came across today. It shed some light on why I’m feeling so wacky as of late. Am I the only one affected by the forces of the upcoming eclipse?
